Touch Point Sconce

Touch Point began as a response to a design brief centered on greeting and interaction. The sconce pairs with a magnetic pendant that acts as both control and companion. Dock the pendant and the light warms on. Remove it and it fades out. The interaction is the design. The form is minimal and geometric. Nothing competes with the gesture itself. The engineering challenge was making that gesture feel right. The magnetic docking geometry had to lock the pendant in a natural feeling way. The LED ramp curves required careful tuning to feel alive rather than mechanical. Too fast and it's a switch. Too slow and it's broken.

Developed collaboratively with designer Mark Khoury who drove the initial concept and form, and I owned the interaction logic and electronics, resolved together through prototype and iteration.
