Tun Pendant

The Tun is a large-format 3D-printed pendant in the tradition of Noguchi and Nelson: soft diffused light, familiar form.

3D printing removes the tooling constraints that defined mid-century lighting production. The Tun's drum form is circular with the profile cut at 45 degrees to ensure predictable printability. The constraint isn't hidden; it's part of what makes the form what it is.

The surface finish carries soft ripples that animate under light, shifting between texture and shadow depending on the angle. The shade diffuses light radially while directing it downward — both volumetric and functional at once.
